In April of 2009, while operating an illegal kennel operation (Chihuahua Rescue aka Dog Angels) in Tehachapi, California, two accused animal hoarders, Kimi Peck and Kimberly Maggio, both with extensive histories in criminal courts in regards to animal related neglect, stole two puppies belonging to an unsuspecting Julie Feiner. Even though Ms. Peck already had between 250-350 animals in her ‘care’, and Ms. Maggio was hoarding approximately 100 animals in her ‘care’ (separate locations in Kern), this did not stop the accused animal hoarders from stealing Julie’s puppies.
