NOTICE HOW SHE DOES NOT MENTION HER OWN HISTORY OF BEING KICKED OUT OF AND EVICTED FROM ALMOST EVERY SINGLE PROPERTY (INCLUDING HER MOST RECENT LICENSED KENNEL IN BURBANK) IN THE PAST 10+ YEARS. Dear Friend and Lover of Chihuahuas:

2005 has been a very hectic year for Chihuahua Rescue and Sanctuary which was filled with challenges, victories, hope, and change.

As most of you who have been to the Burbank Rescue know, the facility was very crowded offering no opportunity for our many special little residents to run, sit in the sun (which they so love to do), play together, or smell clean, fresh air. ***Finally admitting the truth…but watch how she turns it around.

With the unending efforts and tenacity of Kimi Peck and her volunteers, a wonderful new 23-acre property was purchased in Kern County which offers The Chihuahua Rescue and Sanctuary and Kimi every option available to provide a place that will enable the many abused, abandoned, and neglected Chihuahuas to have a home of consistency, security, comfort, and above all, love. ***She pulled this same stunt when she moved to her licensed kennel in Burbank. You should see the solicitation letter Susan Marlow sent to people asking for grant monies over a year ago while in Burbank. Actually, I have a copy…hmmm.

It was by God’s blessings that enough money was found to purchase the property. It will take the help of people like you to keep us going. Our goal is to rescue these precious dogs and, when appropriate, find an adoptive home that will provide love, stability, and proper care. (Presently, there are 175 dogs being cared for in this safe and loving facility.) ***God’s blessings? Try your money enablers, Peck. Love, stability, and proper care? Not according to your despicable history. 175 dogs? I highly doubt you only have 175 dogs. Oh, are you going to care for them the same way you did in Burbank and every other ’sanctuary’ you’ve been kicked out of?

However, a large percentage of the dogs will remain in the shelter as sanctuary dogs forever. This means that their chances of adoption are slim.

I personally adopted two of these dogs; one that has epilepsy who had been in the shelter for four years. The other was an abused dog found starving and sun-burned on Venice Beach. They now share a loving home with their two new siblings Guerra and Suley (my nine and two year old Chihuahuas), one 16 year old Cat named Callie and three fish. Oliver (the abandoned one) has re-grown all of his hair, his skin is beautiful, he has gained weight, and he now lets me kiss him on the cheeks! Emmett has not had one seizure and is so happy and playful. He has the softest fur I have ever felt on a dog.
I just love to pet him and see his tail wag! ***Excuse me, let me get a tissue to dry my crying eyes.

The needs of the Chihuahua Rescue and Sanctuary are immense. At this time of sharing, caring and giving, we hope that you will help Kimi by offering financial support at this very difficult time. Here are just a few items we need to purchase:

1. The building of new, dog-friendly kennels that allow ease of cleaning, more mobility, and exposure to sunshine, when possible. We need lots of custom fencing. (If you know anyone in the fencing business that is willing to donate new fencing or can building custom kennels, let us know.) Otherwise, your generous financial support in helping us buy what we so desperately need.

2. Subsidize monthly vet bills which have been as high as $14,000 in one month.

3. Help support our day-to-day operations. Last year was a challenging year financially. We really would like 2006 to be a year in which we don’t just survive but a year that will allow us to grow.

With your on-going support, we will not only be able to meet our basic expenses (which are great) but allow us to purchase a Van that we so urgently need and build a new addition to the present facility.

I am personally asking your generous financial support at this wonderful Holiday Season. Please don’t forget the small creatures, our lovable Chihuahuas that need your love and attention and most of all dollars of support. ***Help me out here. Maybe you should have the money first? That’s just a suggestion.
Oh, and please do not buy any more puppies from backyard breeders.
